In 2022, ISL performed a US-wide K-12 EdTech Safety Benchmark. The sample set encompassed 663 K-12 schools across the US and District of Columbia; 13 schools in each state (and DC). In total, over 1700 unique technologies were identified as required or recommended in the sample of schools. The research amassed:
- 29,000+ data points about schools and school technology behaviors,
- 88,000+ data points on 1700+ EdTech apps, and
- Over 1200 apps’ worth of network traffic flows.
The following materials related to the benchmark are available:
- Findings Report 1: Overall App Safety Findings
- Findings Report 2: School Technology Practices & 3rd Party Certifications Analysis
- Findings Report 3: Demographic Analysis of App Safety, Website Safety, and School Technology Behaviors in US K-12 Schools
